Abstract
The aim was to map the clinical practices, management strategies, and care protocols used in the maintenance of potential thoracic organ donors, focusing on interventions that contribute to the viability and effectiveness of donation. A scoping review will be conducted according to the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute and the PRISMA-ScR extension, searching the MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, CINAHL, and Cochrane Library databases, without language restrictions, with a time frame of 10 years (2015-2025). The selection will be carried out by two independent reviewers in a two-stage process. The protocol is registered on the INPLASY and Open Science Framework platforms. Mapping of available evidence on the management of potential thoracic organ donors, identification of knowledge gaps, and scientific publication of findings will be carried out. The results will support, in a future stage of the doctoral project, the updating of an institutional care plan and the development of a panel of indicators, structured based on the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research model. It is expected to contribute to increasing the availability of thoracic organs, reducing the waiting list, and strengthening the Intra-Hospital Committees for Organ and Tissue Donation for Transplants.
