It is with immense satisfaction that we present this special thematic issue of the Global Academic Nursing Journal, entitled “Accessibility and Inclusion: reflections, challenges and advances in the field of health”.
The aim of this issue was to foster a positive and necessary academic dialogue, capable of inspiring the transformation of health practices and services. We believe that true excellence in care is only achieved when health systems become fully accessible and inclusive for all human diversity. In launching the call for submissions, we sought studies that not only diagnosed barriers, but also illuminated pathways, shared successful experiences, and deepened critical reflections on the topic.
The response from the scientific community exceeded our expectations, resulting in a diverse and robust collection. The works that make up this issue cover a wide spectrum of experiences, from the struggle for the rights of people living with chronic pain to specific care strategies for people with disabilities, including critiques of body normativity and the urgent discussion on access to healthcare for the transgender population. The variety of methodologies, ranging from original articles and experience reports to dense theoretical reflections, enriches the collection and demonstrates the multidimensionality of the topic.
We invite you, the reader, to delve into the articles that make up this issue.
