The III BRAZILIAN FORUM ON THE PERFORMANCE OF NURSES IN PODIATRY, with the central theme “Building science and evidence for comprehensive care in Podiatry“, was held from April 27 to 29, 2023, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the Auditorium of Veiga de Almeida University - UVA - Tijuca Campus, at Rua Ibituruna, n.º 108, Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro/RJ - Brazil.

With a rich and diverse program, including lectures, talk shows, panels and practical hands-on courses, this third edition of the Brazilian Forum on “The Role of Podiatric Nurses” featured renowned national and international speakers who discussed the best evidence and practices for comprehensive care for people with lower limb conditions, especially podiatric care for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, dermatological, vascular and oncological conditions.

The event was three days of immersion in the most advanced resources and technologies for assessment, care and management in the scenarios of promotion, protection, prevention, recovery and rehabilitation in Podiatry, with participants from all over Brazil.

In addition to providing new knowledge and updates, the event promoted contact between participants and companies that develop advanced technologies for podiatric care, thus expanding their knowledge, skills and autonomy to work in this area, which is increasingly evolving in Brazil and worldwide.

Another important contribution is the presentation of scientific papers and research on the role of nurses in podiatry, the results of which are consolidated with the publication of the Annals of the Brazilian Forum on the Role of Nurses in Podiatry. The set of abstracts brings together important information from authors on current trends and technological and therapeutic advances in Nursing in Dermatology - Podiatry, which contributes to the dissemination of knowledge and practices, with the purpose of national and international exchange for development in a privileged space, an already consolidated trademark of the SOBENDE Podiatry Forums. Thus, to support this important care, considering the challenges to existing health demands, whether to qualify and bring safety to the Podiatry care they perform, or with the aim of providing information to contribute to professional qualification, the merit of the success of the Annals edition goes to the community of researchers and professionals from academia and public/private health services and students. Its continued growth reflects the relevance that research in Nursing in Dermatology - Podiatry has historically achieved in Brazil and, mainly, for improving care for lower limb conditions in our population.

It is great to have you with us on this journey!

Wherever you encounter the user/patient/client/worker: office; health unit; specialized service; emergency room; hospital; home; you will be equally important in ensuring the comprehensive care of the lower limbs that they need. You are essential in this care, as is all the knowledge produced in society.

We are partners in this initiative!

Good read!
