Study published by Global Academic Nursing becomes a source in Estadão

“The Nipah virus is once again the scene of discussions and uncertainties about the progress of outbreaks and possibilities of new occurrences. A few days ago, in Kerala, India, a 14-year-old teenager died after becoming infected with the Nipah virus. This sentinel event raised concerns about the risk of a new pandemic situation, since the virus has already caused outbreaks in several Asian countries, with containment measures.
The virus is transmitted from animals to humans and the main natural hosts are bats (Brazil is not a natural habitat for the bat species that transmit the Nipah virus). Transmission to humans occurs through the consumption of fruit contaminated with the urine or saliva of infected animals, but it is also possible for an infected person to transmit it to another in case of close contact.
The news made visible the academic work carried out by experts and researchers in Brazil who are attentive, cautiously monitoring possible changes in epidemiological scenarios, projections for training and provision within the bases of the United Nations call for Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Pandemics”. Dr. Fernando Augusto Dias e Sanches

One of the biggest challenges for researchers in the current scenario is being able to transmit the knowledge acquired to people outside academia in order to inform, educate and, consequently, prevent the spread of fake news and misinformation on a topic. The work carried out by the authors of the published study is fundamental to ensuring that these objectives are achieved. The Global Academic Nursing Journal is very pleased and honored to be a space that allows professionals this platform to the visibility of the studies published here.
